Programmer

PICS, Inc., a health behavior research and development company in Reston, VA, is recruiting for a Computer Software Programmer. 

PICS creates, designs, develops, evaluates, and markets computer-assisted assessment and intervention programs for smoking cessation, dietary management, exercise adherence, insomnia, and other health behavior problems. PICS has an active research division supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health with ongoing R&D efforts in smoking cessation/prevention, insomnia, and behavioral monitoring. Current diet and exercise projects include a web-based program to improve food portion estimation abilities and webcentric Palm programs for dietary monitoring and for exercise adherence.

We are seeking a computer science professional to be responsible for designing and implementing web based solutions for our products.  Candidates must have a computer science degree and experience with usability and interface design.  The successful candidate must possess basic web skills such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, working knowledge of server-side technologies such as ASP, VB.Net and familiarity with databases such as MySQL and SQL.  Web 2.0 skills such as AJAX are a plus.
